Award Ceremony of the National Skills competitionAfter a successful National Skills Competition in The Gambia organized by the National Accreditation and Quality Assurance Authority, NAQAA, an award ceremony was held for the winners and runner-ups on Monday, 5th Dec. 2022, at the Pencha-mi Hall.
The competition is through the UNESCO-KOICA Youth Empowerment through TVET Education in The Gambia. Congratulations to the winners and participants of the maiden skills competition. |
National Skills CompetitionThe National Accreditation and Quality Assurance Authority (NAQAA), a technical arm of the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology (MoHERST) on accreditation and quality assurance matters on Wednesday, 30th November 2022 organized the National Skills Competition in USET Campus, Kanifing.
This is following the regional skills competitions in Basse URR, Mansakonko LRR, and Kanifing, KMC. The winners of the regionals were the participants of the National Skills competition. |
President Barrow Visit USET Center in MansakonkoDuring his visit, the President, accompanied by the Minister of Higher Education, Professor Pierre Gomez, formally opened the Center Dormitories built by GAMWORKS through the Regional Stabilization and Development Fund in ECOWAS funded by the German Government. His Excellency Adama Barrow also visited the MRC Holland built classrooms of the skills centre.

Educational Mgmt. Information System (EMIS) HandoverOn August 18th, 2022, The Ministry of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology (MoHERST), through the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) project in The Gambia funded by Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) with the support of UNESCO, successfully completed three components of the Youth Empowerment project.
The components include (i) a TVET policy, (ii) University of Applied Science, Engineering and Technology (USET) and its outreach centres, and USET Educational Management Information System (EMIS) developed by InSIST Global. |
TVET Communications and Visibility Campaign Tools Handover by ACEThe Ministry of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology (MoHERST) on Wednesday, 31st of August 2022, conducted the ceremony for the handover of TVET Communication Campaign tools developed by Ace Communications Executive with the National Technical Team (NTT), headed by the MoHERST Director of Research, James Gomez.

Gambia: Four Hundred Sterling Graduates Ready to Enter (...)Four hundred young Gambians have graduated from the Sterling Skills Training Centre in Busumbala, the Gambia. The new institution is supported by the International Trade Centre (ITC) through its European Union (EU)-funded Youth Empowerment Project and the EU Jobs, Skills and Finance Programme for Women and Youth. The Gambia: STTC Graduates Up To Four Hundred StudentsAt least 400 students at STTC recently graduated after successfully completing skills training in various areas. The graduation ceremony was held at school premises in Busumbala.
